This was the immediate reaction from Marcos Rojo when he was told that Alexis Sanchez would be joining Manchester United from their Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The initial concern consumed the Argentine defender when he heard the news, but why…?

Well… it turns out that Rojo has come up against the Chilean multiple times in the past and the Man United man revealed to TyC Sports that the pair never got on.

“Every time we came up against one another, whether in internationals or when United played Arsenal, I would give him a good kicking — and he did the same to me. On top of that I used to insult him, and he would reply in kind”

Luckily, Alexis Sanchez didn’t hold a grudge against his new teammate when he moved to Manchester – but manager Jose Mourinho gave Rojo a warning just before the transfer was completed.

“He told me: ‘We’re going to sign Alexis. I don’t want you smashing him up in training tomorrow’… then he burst out laughing.

Maybe the Portuguese boss hasn’t completely lost his sense of humour.
