Tottenham Hotspur have exercised an option in goalkeeper Michel Vorm's contract to extend his stay at the club until 2019, the Premier League side has said.
The 34-year-old has been second choice behind Hugo Lloris at Tottenham since joining the club from Swansea City in 2014, making 43 appearances for the North London team.
"The club can confirm that we have activated the option to extend Michel Vorm's contract until 2019," Tottenham said on their website.
Argentina midfielder Manuel Lanzini will miss the World Cup after injuring a knee in training.
"Manuel Lanzini suffered, in today's morning training, the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee," the national side announced on Twitter on Friday.
The World Cup starts in Russia next week and the West Ham United player's absence will be a blow for manager Jorge Sampaoli.
Argentina, who lost in the World Cup final four years ago but only qualified for this year’s tournament by winning their final qualifying match, have been drawn in Group D alongside Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria.
Serena Williams has pulled out of her French Open fourth-round clash with Maria Sharapova citing an injury.
The shock decision was made by the three-time champion ahead of the hotly-anticipated match.
Williams held a press conference she explained she was unable to serve due to an arm injury.
I've had issues with the right pectoral muscle to the point where I can't serve," said the 36-year-old.
Her match-up with old rival Sharapova was one of the most hyped matches of the whole French Open.
The 23-time Grand Slam winner recently returned to tennis after giving birth to her first child and had been hoping to make a triumphant return with the title at Roland Garros.
Sharapova will now effectively receive a bye through to a quarter-final match up against either third seed Garbine Muguruza and Lesia Tsurenko.
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named in Egypt’s World Cup squad.
The 25-year-old ended a breakthrough season for Liverpool in disappointing fashion when he was withdrawn injured in the first half of the Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid in Kiev on May 26.
The Egyptian walked off the pitch in tears as the injury cast a doubt over his World Cup participation but the striker who scored 44 goals in his debut campaign on Merseyside has been named in Hector Cuper’s squad.
Salah missed Egypt's goalless draw with Colombia last Friday as the North Africans continue their World Cup preparations.
Egypt play Belgium in their final warm-up game on Wednesday before opening their World Cup campaign against Group A rivals Uruguay on June 15. Hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia also compete in the same group.
Vincent Kompany has been named in Belgium's squad for the World Cup Russia that starts in 10 days.
The 32-year-old had been a doubt after he was forced off 54 minutes into his country's friendly with Portugal on Saturday, apparently with a groin injury.
But the Manchester City captain has been named by manager Roberto Martinez in the 24-man list and could face England in the final Group G game on June 28.
Martinez said he wanted to used the rules to his advantage regarding his skipper. He said: "Until 24 hours before [the first match] we can still make a replacement.
"We need to wait a period of seven, eight days with Kompany. Then we will get a good opportunity to make a diagnosis.
"He is a true leader. He performed in a fantastic manner when he was on the pitch. His leadership is essential for us."
Belgium play friendly warm-up matches against Egypt on Wednesday and Costa Rica next Monday.

LeBron James said the fact that his 51-point performance in Game One of the NBA Finals on Thursday ended with a Cleveland Cavaliers loss underscores just how difficult it will be to dethrone the defending champion Golden State Warriors.
James was sensational throughout the tightly contested affair which the Warriors won 124-114 when their potent offence moved up a gear in overtime.
"We understand how difficult and how challenging this task is," James told reporters after the game, which marked the fourth consecutive year the teams have met in the Finals.
"You take it all the way throughout the night thinking about it and ways you could have been better and plays that could have happened that could have gone your way and didn't go your way or things you could have done.
"And you wake up tomorrow with a fresh mind and you move forward."
One thing that did not go the Cavs' way was a blocking call on James, which officials initially ruled as a charge against Warriors forward Kevin Durant with the change of decision allowing Golden State to tie the game in the final minute.
The Cavs also had the ball with a little less than five seconds to play when guard J.R. Smith secured a rebound on a missed free throw but failed to get a shot off with the game tied at 107-107.
The night was a historic one for James, who is the only player other than Michael Jordan to score more than 50 points in a Finals game since 1970.
His performance drew strong praise from Warriors coach Steve Kerr, who played alongside Jordan at the Chicago Bulls.
"They have a guy who is playing basketball at a level that I'm not sure anybody's ever seen before, when you consider everything he's doing," Kerr said.
James, who has carried his fourth-seeded Cavs to his eighth consecutive NBA Finals, said the key to success would be staying aggressive and getting his team mates involved.
"I just try to do whatever it takes to help our team win and try to be a triple threat out on the floor offensively and being able to score, rebound, and get my guys involved," he said
Asked if the loss was one of the most disappointing of his career in Finals games, James said it probably was.
"Because it's right now, I would say yeah because I always live in the present," he said.
"We played as well as we've played all post-season, and we gave ourselves a chance possession after possession after possession.
"There were just some plays that were kind of taken away from us. Simple as that."
The Cavaliers and Warriors meet for Game Two of the best-of-seven series in Oakland on Sunday.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as the early favourite to replace Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid manager following the Frenchman’s shock decision to resign on Thursday.
Pochettino only signed a new five-year deal a week ago but Cadena Cope radio station says the Argentinian is top of Madrid’s list to replace Zidane – the manager who led Madrid to three successive Champions League titles.
Cadena Cope also adds that Pochettino has a clause in his new contract which allows him to speak to a club with the profile of Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain.
Former Madrid midfielder Guti is also in contention after working with the club’s youth teams and another option could be Germany manager Joachim Low.
Tottenham appointed Pochettino from Southampton in 2014 and he has overseen huge progress in terms of quality and achievement - but without managing to win a trophy.
After losing the FA Cup semi-final to Manchester United, Pochettino raised questions about his future when saying: "Tottenham need more time, of course with me or another."
His new contract seemed to have put any doubts to bed but the former Espanyol manager has been consistently linked with a move to Madrid and he is now likely to field interest from Perez.
Serena Williams battled hard to secure her progression through to the second round of the French Open with a 7-6 6-4 victory over Kristyna Pliskova.
It was a far from easy first Grand Slam appearance back for the American, but she closed out a hard-fought win in two tight sets.
Williams was taken to a tie-break in the opening set by the big-serving Pliskova, with the scoreline eventually 7-4 in her favour.
"I don't know how many aces there were," Serena smiled courtside after the match. "But I think money goes to charity, so donate!
"I think we raised some real money," she laughed before making her way to the exit, stopping for selfies and to sign autographs for an appreciative French crowd.
Pliskova assumed early control with a break in the second set, but Williams refused to be dictated to and fought back.
The 36-year-old closed out victory after a number of deuces on her serve at 5-4 with the Philippe-Chatrier crowd delighted to see her comeback win.
"I feel like a warrior in it, like a warrior princess kind of, (a) queen from Wakanda," Serena said post match, referring to catsuit she wore on court.
"I'm always living in a fantasy world. I always wanted to be a superhero, and it's kind of my way of being a superhero.
"I feel like a superhero when I wear it."
The three-time champion at Roland Garros will next take on Australian Ash Barty in the second round.
Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will make his comeback from a nine-month injury break in Saturday's international against Austria as he races to be fit for next month's World Cup, goalkeeping coach Andreas Koepke said on Tuesday.
World Cup winner Neuer, who has been the Germany number one for more than eight years, has not played a single official game since breaking a bone in his foot back in September but Koepke said he was fully on track for the tournament in Russia.
"That's the plan," Koepke told reporters at their training camp in Eppan, northern Italy.
"As things stand now he will play on Saturday. There is nothing in the way and those are the matches he needs. An international against Austria where he will have more to do."
The 32-year-old Germany captain played 30 minutes in their training match against the German Under-20 team on Monday and will again play another 30 minutes when the two sides meet on Wednesday.
The reigning world champions will stay in Italy until June 5, a day after the deadline for the final 23-man squad announcement. Coach Joachim Loew has taken 27 players to the training camp with four facing the cut, including one of four keepers.
"Manuel needs these games after his long injury to be 100 percent fit. It was a basic condition when he came here that he has to shoot out of the blocks," Koepke said.
"From jump strength to mobility there is absolutely no problem whatsoever.
"(It is) Like he was never away. Now it is about reading the game, getting confidence playing the ball with the foot. He is on the road we all imagine and everything seems to be working."
Koepke also hinted a fit Neuer would be their first choice for the tournament ahead of the other three keepers -- Kevin Trapp, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Bernd Leno -- Loew has called up in his preliminary squad.
"Marc won the Confederations Cup last year, had a super season at Barcelona and he obviously would like to play at the World Cup," Koepke said.
"But when it comes to Manuel it is a special situation and he (Marc) can handle it very well."
The Germans, who also face Saudi Arabia in Leverkusen on June 8 in their final warm-up match, are in World Cup Group F with Sweden, South Korea and Mexico. The tournament starts on June 14.
Robert Lewandowski has sent shockwaves through Bayern Munich by confirming via his agent that he wants to leave the club this summer.
The Bundesliga’s best striker, and one of the best centre-forwards in the world, wants a “new challenge” according to his new agent, Pini Zahavi.
Zavahi was involved in Neymar’s £198m world record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain last summer and now Poland star Lewandowski, 29, is agitating for a big-money move of his own.
“Robert feels he needs a change and a new challenge in his career,” Zahavi said. “The managers of Bayern know about it.”
Lewandowski scored 29 goals in 30 Bundesliga games this season and has 151 in 195 games in all competitions in total for Bayern.
Real Madrid are long-standing admirers of the striker but a move to the Premier League is also likely to be speculated upon as he assesses his options.
